The Role Summary

In this senior-level, target-driven commercial role, you will be responsible for expanding our client's footprint by driving the adoption of their public sector procurement frameworks. This position blends sophisticated account management with strategic new business development. Acting as a trusted commercial advisor, you will partner with senior procurement leaders, commissioners, and department heads to align their purchasing needs with our client's efficient routes to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Commercial Growth: Consistently hit key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales targets by building a robust, high-value pipeline.
  • Strategic Account Expansion: Design and execute tailored account plans to maximize contract value and service adoption within target government bodies.
  • Senior Stakeholder Management: Cultivate long-term, consultative relationships with key decision-makers, including public sector buyers and department heads.
  • Full Sales Lifecycle Ownership: Manage the entire business development process, from identifying initial opportunities through to complex contract negotiations and closure.
  • Market Insight: Keep a pulse on evolving UK procurement regulations, competitor landscapes, and public sector trends to keep our client's offerings highly competitive.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal delivery, marketing, and proposal teams to build high-impact pitches and campaigns tailored to government audiences.
  • Reporting: Maintain clean data within the CRM (HubSpot or equivalent) and provide regular pipeline updates to executive leadership.

  • Target-Driven Success: Proven history of hitting revenue goals using a highly consultative, relationship-first sales approach.
  • Professional Qualifications: Holding, or a willingness to achieve, CIPS Level 4 or above is highly desirable.
  • Commercial Capabilities: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in managing sales data (such as advanced Excel and CRM tracking), and exceptional negotiation skills.
