An independent chemicals manufacturer is seeking a Technical Manager to lead engineering and technical operations at their growing site. The business specialises in processing across various industries, and this role is key to their long-term succession and growth strategy.
The Role
You will take full ownership of site engineering, maintenance, CAPEX projects, and process improvement, with a high degree of autonomy to shape both short- and long-term strategy. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading all technical and engineering operations across the site
- Designing and delivering CAPEX projects and new equipment installations
- Managing GMP validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and regulatory compliance
- Driving process improvements and root cause investigations
- Overseeing maintenance strategy, budget, and shutdown planning
- Supporting HSE and quality systems (ISO9001, ISO14001, FSSC22000, HACCP, DSEAR)
- Acting as a technical interface with customers
About You
- Degree-qualified in Chemical Engineering (or similar)
- Strong experience in process manufacturing environments
- Proven leadership in engineering or technical management roles
- Experience in bulk solids handling highly desirable
- Skilled in CAPEX delivery, GMP environments, and HSE
