Process Safety Engineering – Principal Consultant
Location: Ideally Manchester, or any Northern England location
Working Model: Hybrid with UK‐wide site travel.
Pareto Recruitment are seeking an experienced Process Safety Principal Consultant to support and lead client projects across high‐hazard industries. This senior, client‐facing role combines technical depth with leadership, project delivery and business development.
The Role
You will lead and deliver projects focused on improving the design, operation and maintenance of hazardous process facilities. Expect to work across sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, onshore storage and other COMAH‐regulated environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing and delivering multiple client projects.
- Applying expert knowledge of COMAH and process safety legislation.
- Leading HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and wider risk assessment studies.
- Conducting audits, onsite surveys and authoritative process safety reviews.
- Supporting engineering and EHS studies, design reviews and operational improvements.
- Developing standards, methodologies and processes for clients.
- Building client relationships and contributing to business growth.
- Supporting development of colleagues and fostering a collaborative team culture.
