We are seeking an experienced Mobile Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to support planned and reactive maintenance across sites within the Great Portland Estates (GPE) portfolio in Central London. You will be responsible for ensuring building services assets are maintained safely, efficiently, and in line with statutory compliance, working across a range of high-quality commercial environments. This is a hands-on engineering role involving fault finding, PPM delivery, reactive maintenance, and supporting the smooth operation of critical building systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical building services systems
- Fault-find across HVAC, BMS, pumps, generators, switchgear, lighting and small power systems
- Complete CAFM (simPRO) work orders with accurate records and photographic evidence
- Support statutory compliance checks and maintain site logbooks
- Respond to BMS alarms and plant issues using first-line diagnostics
- Maintain high standards of plant room housekeeping and site presentation
- Liaise professionally with GPE stakeholders, clients, subcontractors and site teams
- Report risks, faults, and maintenance issues to the Contract Manager
- Ensure all works are carried out safely in line with Health & Safety procedures
Call-Out Rota
- Yes standby rota in place
- Approx. 1 week in 12 on call
- Standby allowance paid
- Call-outs paid in addition to overtime rates
What We're Looking For
- Electrical qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) - Essential
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations - Essential
- Building Services / M&E maintenance experience - Essential
- Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience with HVAC plant and BMS systems
- Understanding of Health & Safety regulations and safe systems of work
- IOSH / PASMA / IPAF - Desirable
- HV experience - Desirable
Team & Support
You will be part of a mobile engineering team supporting Great Portland Estates assets, reporting into the Contract Manager, with support from engineering supervisors and contract support functions. Full technical and operational support is available across the wider team, including escalation routes and specialist guidance when required.
