Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Electrical Building Services Engineer to join our Foot Mobile engineering team in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer who enjoys variety, problem solving and working across a diverse portfolio of commercial buildings.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Contract Supervisor and Contract Manager, you'll become a key member of our engineering team, responsible for maintaining safe, compliant and fully operational building services for our clients. You'll carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair works across electrical building services systems, while also supporting wider building services requirements when required. You'll have the autonomy to manage your workload while having the support of experienced supervisors and managers who are invested in your success.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across commercial buildings.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
- Diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
- Maintain electrical systems, plant and associated building services equipment.
- Carry out testing, inspection and minor installation works.
- Maintain lighting systems, small power installations, distribution equipment and controls.
- Use Building Management Systems (BMS) for first-line diagnostics and alarm response.
- Complete maintenance records, service reports and compliance documentation.
- Build strong relationships with clients and building occupiers through excellent customer service.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with statutory requirements.
About You
We're looking for an electrically biased engineer who takes pride in delivering a high-quality service and enjoys working as part of a professional engineering team.
- Essential NVQ AM2 Electrical qualification.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience working within commercial building maintenance or facilities management.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
- Good understanding of safe working practices, including the Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience working with:
- Electrical distribution systems.
- Switchgear.
- Lighting systems.
- Small power installations.
- Generators and associated controls.
- Battery systems.
- Building Management Systems (BMS).
- General building services plant and equipment.
Desirable
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
- IOSH Working Safely.
- PASMA.
- IPAF.
- High Voltage (HV) awareness or certification.
- Experience with HVAC controls, pumps, ventilation systems and wider mechanical building services.
