About the Role
Pareto FM and SOWGA are looking for a skilled and reliable Mobile Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting a portfolio of client sites across the region. This is a field-based role where travel between sites is a core part of the position. You'll be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring client assets and building services remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. Working across a variety of commercial environments, you'll be part of a supportive engineering team with guidance from Supervisors and Contract Managers, while enjoying the autonomy of managing your own workload and day-to-day activities.
The Role
As a Mobile Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining mechanical building services systems, carrying out planned and reactive works, supporting statutory compliance, and ensuring all maintenance activities are completed to the highest standards. This role would suit a proactive engineer who enjoys working across multiple locations, solving problems, and building positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across client sites
- Responding to reactive maintenance requests and plant failures
- Maintaining and repairing mechanical building services and associated equipment
- Fault finding across HVAC, ventilation, pumps, hot water systems, and associated plant
- Supporting statutory maintenance and compliance requirements
- Monitoring subcontractor performance during specialist maintenance visits
- Updating maintenance records, logbooks, and compliance documentation
- Completing work orders and reporting through SimPro
- Carrying out routine plant inspections and housekeeping checks
- Monitoring plant performance and identifying potential issues before failure occurs
- Supporting BMS first-line diagnostics where required
- Ensuring all works are completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Identifying and reporting hazards, risks, and compliance concerns
- Liaising professionally with clients, contractors, and site stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate service reports and test documentation
- Supporting small installation and improvement works when required
- Participating in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support
Team & Support Structure
You'll be supported by an experienced management and engineering team, including:

- Wider regional engineering support teams
- Business Support and Administration teams
Regular communication and collaboration ensure engineers have the support, resources, and guidance needed to succeed.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Mechanical Level 2 & Level 3 qualifications (or equivalent)
- Experience within a maintenance engineering or building services role
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience working on mechanical building services systems
- Good understanding of health & safety requirements
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- G3 Unvented Hot Water Qualification
- IOSH Working Safely
- PASMA
- IPAF 1b / 3a / 3b
- Experience with BMS systems
- Knowledge of L8 compliance, pressurisation systems, and HVAC plant
- Experience working within commercial facilities management environments
Call-Out & Working Pattern
Field-based role covering multiple client sites. Travel is a core part of the role. Monday to Friday working pattern. 1 in 6 weeks on-call rota. Overtime opportunities may be available to support business requirements.
