Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our Foot Mobile engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys variety, problem solving and working within a collaborative team. You'll maintain a portfolio of high-quality commercial buildings across Central London, delivering both planned and reactive maintenance while building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Contract Supervisor and Contract Manager, you'll become part of a supportive team responsible for delivering exceptional maintenance services across a prestigious client portfolio. You'll carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding and minor repairs across a wide range of mechanical building services systems, helping to ensure our clients' buildings remain safe, compliant and operating efficiently. What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across commercial buildings.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests and diagnose faults.
- Carry out repairs and minor installation works across mechanical building services.
- Maintain HVAC systems and associated plant equipment.
- Monitor and use Building Management Systems (BMS) for first-line diagnostics.
- Complete maintenance reports and compliance documentation accurately.
- Build strong relationships with clients through excellent customer service.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with statutory compliance requirements.
About You
You'll be a proactive engineer who enjoys working independently while being part of a supportive engineering team.
Essential
- NVQ in Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (mechanical bias).
- Experience within commercial building maintenance or facilities management.
- Strong fault-finding experience across mechanical building services.
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience working with equipment such as: HVAC systems, Boiler plant, Pumps, Ventilation systems, Pressurisation systems, Plumbing systems, Building Management Systems (BMS).
Desirable
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
- IOSH Working Safely.
- PASMA.
- IPAF.
- ACOP L8 knowledge.
- High Voltage (HV) awareness or qualifications.
