Overview
Due to the continuing expansion of SOWGA London Region, we have an exciting opportunity within the team – London Static Site Cover Engineer. This is a semi-static position Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. The initial role of this engineer will be routine holiday and sickness cover for our London Static sites, located in, Victoria, Westminster, Mayfair, and White City. The successful applicant will be familiarised with all sites, enabling them to confidently cover without the need for a handover. As such, they will need to be comfortable with changes of working environment, display excellent communication skills and a high level of customer service. Flexible to change between static and semi-static working.
Position: London Static Site Cover Engineer
Location: Central London
Salary: to be discussed at interview
Salary: £45k to £47k depending on experience and qualifications.
Other details: the role will be on a 6-month probation period.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To carry out planned and reactive maintenance to all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
- Completing building services tasks, including knowledge and user management of the following: BMS monitoring/management, emergency lighting repairs, fire alarm systems, pumps, FCUs (service and repairs), AHUs, and all other HVAC plant.
- Water Treatment – to have knowledge and understanding of ACOP L8 and carry out water treatment tasks.
- Ensure all reactive repairs are undertaken safely and within appropriate time scales
- Raising any hazards that arise on site from reporting to rectification.
- Working with site wide plant and equipment and maintaining our positive relationship with the Landlord team.
- Working as part of a site-based team.
- Support with investigation and rectification of any technical faults
- Liaise, and support in the supervision of our sub-contractors
- To understand the critical nature of this site and be confident in dealing with urgent tasks in a demanding environment.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Mechanical/Electrical qualifications and basic understanding of overall building services
- L8 Awareness
- A helpful and professional approach with direct contact with the client on a weekly basis.
- To be available for regular and required out of hours work paid at the agreed overtime rate.
- To be available for a minimum of 1x contracted Saturday per month for supervision of subcontractors and OOH PPM’s.
- Cannot currently be in a probation period.
