Pareto FM is seeking a highly skilled and qualified Building Services Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll play a key part in maintaining and improving mechanical and electrical systems across multiple sites. You’ll work closely with clients, facilities managers, and subcontractors, delivering a safe, efficient, and compliant service at all times. We’re looking for someone vibrant, proactive, customer-focused, and ready to take ownership of problems from start to finish. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks to ensure all building systems operate optimally.
- Own maintenance service requests from submission to completion, providing updates to clients and the FM team.
- Perform regular inspections, including statutory, mandatory, and insurance checks, maintaining M&E efficiency and safety.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and drawings in line with national standards.
- Ensure all works are completed to standard, on budget, and aligned with client expectations.
- Support H&S and permit arrangements for subcontractors undertaking routine or emergency works.
- Supervise and verify contractor works, ensuring compliance with RAMS and site procedures.
- Liaise with clients and Pareto FM staff to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Be the client’s first point of contact for issues, providing clear, professional updates and solutions.
- Undertake other duties as required, supporting business continuity and site operations.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- AM2 & NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation / Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles and systems
- Previous experience in a Building Services Engineer role
- Ability to supervise and manage contractors
- Punctual, reliable, and flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Professional, culturally aware, and adaptable to changing priorities
Desirable
- BS7671 18th Edition
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering, plumbing, and building construction
