We're looking for a skilled and proactive Mobile Maintenance Engineer to support the delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of client sites. This is a field-based role covering multiple locations across Bristol and the South West, so travel is a core part of the position. You'll play a key role in ensuring building services systems are maintained safely, efficiently and in full compliance, while delivering a professional, customer-focused service.

What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a variety of commercial buildings and client environments. Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical and building services systems
- Fault-finding and diagnosing issues across HVAC plant and associated equipment
- Responding to plant and equipment failures and carrying out repairs as required
- Monitoring and responding to BMS alarms and utilising systems for first-line diagnostics
- Maintaining electrical, mechanical and water system logbooks and compliance records
- Completing maintenance tasks accurately through the CAFM system (simPRO), including photographic evidence
- Undertaking regular plant room inspections and building walk-rounds
- Supporting specialist subcontractors and monitoring service delivery when on site
- Carrying out minor installation works and system improvements
- Identifying potential hazards and escalating concerns appropriately
- Maintaining safe working practices and compliance with health and safety requirements
- Building positive relationships with clients and end users through excellent customer service
Working Hours & Call-Out
- Mobile role covering Bristol and the South West
- Overtime available as required
- Participation in the on-call rota is required
- Standby rota: 1 week in every 7
- £200 standby payment per rota period
- Minimum 4-hour payment for any call-out attended
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations
- Strong understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations
- Experience carrying out maintenance, testing and fault-finding within commercial building services environments
- Experience working with plant equipment including boilers, pumps, ventilation systems, switchgear, generators, lighting and power systems
- Strong customer service and communication skills

- Unvented Hot Water Systems (G3)
- Knowledge of BMS, HVAC systems, generators and building controls
- ACOP L8 / water hygiene knowledge

Team & Support
You'll be joining an established and supportive engineering team consisting of six mobile engineers and one static engineer, with this role bringing the team to eight engineers in total. The majority of planned maintenance activities are completed independently, however engineers regularly collaborate on larger projects, reactive works and specialist tasks when required. You'll report directly into experienced Contract Supervisors who are always available to provide support and technical guidance. The engineering team maintains regular communication through a dedicated Whats App group, ensuring knowledge sharing and assistance is always available. In addition, monthly engineering meetings provide an opportunity to discuss operational matters, raise concerns and share best practice across the team.
