Flexible Area Supervisor, supporting Regional and Account Managers in the delivery of allocated PFM or PSS.

Key Duties:

  • Assisting the Regional and Account Managers with providing holiday and sickness cover for smooth running of allocated contracts.
  • Site spot checks to monitor if staff on site have all necessary equipment, uniform and consumables to carry out their duties.
  • Report any delivery issues or shortcomings of service delivery on site to Regional and Account Manager.
  • Assist as required Regional and Account Manager to carry out monthly audits on each site and provide copies of the audit to the client and provide feedback to the operatives on site.
  • Assist staff on site if they have any issues understanding any of the content in the site Bible folder.
  • Advise the Regional and Account Manager if the site Bible needs to be updated, including RAMS, SSOW, COSHH sheets, etc.
  • Assist the Regional and Account Manager to monitor Health and Safety on site including delivery of toolbox talks, online training, New employee inductions.
  • Report any accidents, incidents or near misses as per the Pareto procedures.
  • Advising Regional Account Manager of any portable appliance testing as required.
  • Monitor Smart task usage and ensure team are booking in and out as per instructions, support team in usage as and when required.
  • Any reasonable management request.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Previous supervisory experience of multi-site working, time management, computer literacy essential.
  • Driving licence essential, usage of cleaning machines beneficial, such as buffers, scrubber dryers, I-mops.

Vocational and Technical Skills:

  • Essential: IOSH as a minimum, Awareness/knowledge of Health & Safety issues, Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Desirable: Any relevant NVQ in FM.

Experience:

The job holder will be required to have experience within soft services, ideally cleaning including specialist cleaning. Preferably in FM.

Interpersonal Skills:

When dealing with client personnel and at all levels, the job holder must use tact and diplomacy in order to get co-operation from client personnel and when dealing with visitors.

Responsibility:

  • Human Resource Management: The job holder is responsible for checking on the quality of their work and supervising less experienced staff when required.
  • Physical Resource Management: The job holder is responsible for the care of tools, complete as appropriate, whilst in their use, whether the property belongs to the client or Pareto.

Confidentiality is required on all matters that are pertaining to Pareto and the client.

Communication:

Communication is oral/written and mostly internal with the Account Manager and client’s staff. Communication is generally straightforward. From time to time the job holder will liaise with contractors working inside of the client’s sites or areas of responsibility, and at times with visitors.

Liaison:

The client’s image can be affected by the job holder’s dealings with visitors and the media. While in dealings with the client’s personnel at all levels, the clients' costs and operational efficiency are influenced.

Mental Demands:

Judgement and Decision Making: Original thought and problem solving. Concentration is required at all times, particularly high level of concentration is required when working on machinery and specific detail needs to be paid to Health & Safety guidelines. Flexibility around working hours is a must due to the nature of our business.
