SOWGA, part of Pareto FM, is looking for an experienced and electrically qualified Foot Mobile Electrical Engineer to support a portfolio of prestigious commercial properties across London's City and West End. This is a varied, hands‑on role where you'll travel between multiple client sites, delivering electrical planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault finding and statutory compliance activities. You'll be responsible for ensuring electrical systems and associated building services remain safe, reliable and fully operational, helping us deliver an exceptional service to our clients and building occupiers.
The Role
As a Foot Mobile Electrical Engineer, you'll take the lead on electrical maintenance activities across a portfolio of commercial buildings, ensuring electrical installations and equipment are maintained safely and in accordance with relevant regulations. You'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance on lighting, emergency lighting, power distribution, electrical controls and associated building services systems, diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently to minimise disruption. Alongside your electrical responsibilities, you'll also support general building services maintenance, including first‑line checks on mechanical plant and HVAC systems where appropriate. You'll work closely with clients, occupiers, subcontractors and the wider engineering team, maintaining accurate records through SimPRO and ensuring all works are completed safely and professionally. Following successful completion of probation, you'll participate in an out-of-hours call‑out rota to support client requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Electrical Maintenance & Fault Finding
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance across multiple commercial properties.
- Diagnose, investigate and repair electrical faults involving lighting, power circuits, distribution equipment and associated electrical installations.
- Inspect, maintain and test emergency lighting systems, reporting defects and completing remedial works as required.
- Carry out electrical isolation and maintenance activities in accordance with safe working procedures and current regulations.
- Inspect electrical panels, distribution boards and associated equipment, identifying faults and potential safety concerns.
- Support minor electrical installations, alterations and remedial works within your competence.
- Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, investigating root causes and restoring services safely.
- Building Services & Compliance
- Support the maintenance of electrical components associated with HVAC systems, pumps, motors, controls and other building services equipment.
- Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS), investigating electrical alarms and control‑related faults where appropriate.
- Carry out routine plant room inspections, identifying electrical defects and operational risks.
- Support statutory compliance activities, ensuring electrical maintenance and testing records are accurate and up to date.
- Assist with wider mechanical and general building services maintenance where required and within your competence.
- Identify and report potential health and safety hazards, equipment failures and compliance concerns.
- Client Support & Administration
- Complete maintenance records, reports and compliance documentation accurately using SimPRO.
- Liaise professionally with clients, building occupiers, subcontractors and colleagues.
- Coordinate with specialist contractors when additional technical support or remedial works are required.
- Support site audits, inspections, small projects and planned maintenance activities.
- Manage your workload effectively while travelling between buildings across the City and West End.
- Participate in the out‑of‑hours call‑out rota following successful completion of probation.
