As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and compliance of commercial gas systems, including plumbing, heating, hot water, and associated mechanical systems such as pumps. - Working independently on PPM and servicing
- Attending jobs alongside other mobile engineers when required
- Supporting the projects team on installations and upgrade works
- Interacting with Contract Managers and engineers on-site as PPM activities overlap
You will report into the Specialist Services Manager, receiving schedule information, daily support and operational guidance directly.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, repair, and compliance checks on commercial gas systems (heating, hot water, plumbing).
- Perform mechanical works, including pump replacements and other mechanical system maintenance.
- Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Provide detailed information and recommendations for quoting repairs and replacements.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Gas Safe regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of works, including reporting via CAFM systems and other IT tools.
- Liaise with clients and colleagues professionally, maintaining the company’s reputation at all times.
- Assist with installations, upgrades, and mechanical system improvements as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Apprenticeship-trained in a mechanical discipline.
- City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Relevant and current ACS qualifications.
- Gas Safe registered.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role (applications without relevant experience will not be considered).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Competent at a “user level” with IT systems (CAFM, reporting, emails).
- Full and clean driving licence.
