Sowga, part of the Pareto FM Group, is looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong M&E and HVAC background to join our growing Projects team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover. Working across a diverse portfolio of commercial, corporate and specialist environments, you'll play a key role in delivering mechanical, electrical and HVAC projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
As Project Manager, you'll manage multiple M&E and HVAC projects across the South Business Unit, predominantly in London. You will oversee the full project lifecycle, including planning, procurement, delivery, commissioning, financial management and handover, while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, company procedures and client requirements. This role offers significant autonomy and would suit someone who thrives in a varied environment where no two projects are the same.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Take full ownership of assigned M&E and HVAC projects from inception through to completion
- Plan and manage project programmes, budgets, resources and timelines
- Coordinate installation, testing, commissioning and handover activities
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, specialist contractors and site teams
- Prepare and review RAMS, construction documentation and project plans
- Monitor project costs, expenditure, forecasts and financial performance
- Manage project variations, valuations, change control and commercial correspondence
- Liaise with clients, consultants, main contractors and internal stakeholders
- Chair project meetings and provide clear progress updates
- Procure materials, plant and subcontract services
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and company procedures
- Maintain quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate production of O&M manuals and as-built documentation
- Manage snagging, defect resolution and final handover activities
- Support workforce planning and resource allocation
- Mentor and support site teams and junior project staff
- Produce project reports and updates for senior management
- Drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience delivering M&E and/or HVAC projects as a Project Manager
- Strong background within Building Services, MEP or Facilities Management projects
- Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems
- Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
- Proven budget management, cost control and commercial awareness
- Experience working on live operational sites
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of building services drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and CDM requirements
- Experience preparing and reviewing RAMS
- Knowledge of testing, commissioning, snagging and handover processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
Preferred Qualifications:
- HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- CSCS Card
- First Aid Qualification
