Join a high-performing engineering team where standards matter. We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Mobile Maintenance Engineer to support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of commercial sites in Surrey and the surrounding areas. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in ensuring mechanical and electrical systems are maintained safely, efficiently, and in full compliance — while delivering an excellent service to clients and end users. If you enjoy fault-finding, problem-solving, and working within a professional, team-driven environment, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites, taking ownership of your region and managing your own workload.

Day To Day, You Will

  • Deliver PPM and reactive maintenance across building services systems
  • Fault-find across HVAC systems, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors and associated plant
  • Support electrical systems including lighting, power and emergency lighting
  • Carry out basic mechanical and plumbing tasks (or electrical support depending on your bias)
  • Monitor plant performance and respond proactively to issues
  • Complete statutory compliance checks and inspections
  • Update CAFM systems accurately and in real time
  • Support subcontractors and manage permits to work
  • Act as a professional and proactive point of contact on site

This is a mobile role, so you’ll travel between sites, manage your own diary, and take real ownership of your patch.

The Environment

  • Commercial office environments across Surrey and surrounding areas
  • Well-maintained buildings with high operational standards
  • Supportive contract management and engineering leadership
  • A culture built on trust, autonomy and collaboration

No two days are the same — and that’s exactly how you like it.

What We’re Looking For

We’re open to engineers with either an electrical or mechanical/plumbing bias, but you must be comfortable working across disciplines.

You’ll Ideally Have

  • Experience within Facilities Management or Building Services
  • Strong background in PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Confidence fault-finding across M&E systems
  • Good working knowledge of HVAC plant
  • Experience with BMS systems (desirable)
  • Experience using CAFM systems
  • A proactive, professional and solution-focused approach

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 in Electrical Engineering or City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical/Plumbing Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition (if electrically biased) desirable
  • Legionella awareness (training can be provided)
  • Full UK driving licence

What’s in it for you?

  • A genuinely varied mobile role — not just ticking boxes
  • Autonomy and ownership of your region
  • Structured support from experienced managers
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Clear progression routes within a growing FM business

Why This Role Stands Out

This isn’t about being “just” an electrical engineer or “just” a plumber — it’s about being a well-rounded facilities professional who understands buildings as a whole. If you take pride in doing the job properly, enjoy working independently, and want to be part of a professional, supportive team — we’d love to hear from you.
