Salary: £35,000 per annum + Company Van

Working hours: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00

About The Role

We're looking for a reliable and proactive Multi‑Skilled Engineer to support the maintenance and upkeep of a portfolio of commercial properties across Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham and London. This is a varied, hands‑on role involving both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across occupied and vacant buildings. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards across building fabric, basic plumbing and electrical systems, while delivering excellent service to clients and tenants. This position also offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills, with full training provided in fire door inspections and remedial works.

Reactive Maintenance

  • Responding to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Diagnosing and resolving building fabric and maintenance issues
  • Carrying out repairs to doors, locks, fixtures, fittings, flooring and furniture
  • Completing maintenance works safely, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Providing clear updates to clients, tenants and colleagues

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)

  • Completing scheduled maintenance activities across multiple sites
  • Conducting routine inspections to identify defects and potential issues
  • Ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules and statutory requirements
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and job reports

Building Fabric & General Maintenance

  • Painting, decorating and patch repairs
  • Minor carpentry and joinery works
  • Basic plumbing repairs including taps, toilets, pipework and drainage issues
  • Basic electrical maintenance including lamp changes, switches and fittings
  • Supporting office moves, furniture installations and property improvements

Fire Door Inspections & Remedials

  • Carrying out fire door inspections following company training
  • Completing remedial works in line with current regulations and standards
  • Maintaining accurate records of inspections and completed works

Health & Safety

  • Working in accordance with company health and safety procedures
  • Ensuring tools, equipment and company vehicles are maintained safely
  • Identifying and reporting hazards and compliance concerns
  • Following site‑specific procedures and permit‑to‑work systems where required

Travel Requirements

  • Primarily supporting sites across Bristol
  • Travel to Bath and Cheltenham approximately once per week
  • Travel to London approximately once per month
  • Company van provided

Essential

  • Previous experience in a multi‑skilled maintenance, facilities, building services or property maintenance role
  • Good all‑round building maintenance knowledge
  • Basic plumbing repair experience
  • Basic electrical maintenance experience
  • Ability to manage workload independently
  • Strong practical problem‑solving skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Experience working within commercial property environments
  • Facilities Management or property maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance programmes
  • Fire door inspection or remedial experience
  • Trade qualifications in electrical, plumbing, carpentry or building maintenance
