The Role
You’ll focus primarily on Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across mechanical and/or electrical systems, while supporting reactive works when required. This is a role for someone who enjoys autonomy – managing their own workload across multiple sites while delivering work to a consistently high standard.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering PPM across building services systems in line with schedules and SLAs
- Supporting reactive maintenance and fault finding when required
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Updating CAFM systems accurately and in real time
- Working in line with health & safety procedures, including RAMS
- Identifying and reporting faults, risks, or system inefficiencies
- Carrying out minor repairs and general building maintenance tasks
- Liaising professionally with clients and site teams
- Supporting subcontractors when onsite
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and materials to the correct standard
- Participating in a call‑out rota (one weekend per month for your allocated region)
Team & Support Structure
- Day‑to‑day support from the Contract Support team for tools, materials, and coordination
- Line management and operational support from the Account Manager
- Part of the wider Northern Business Unit engineering team
- Strong communication and collaborative team culture across the region
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a PPM / maintenance engineering role
- Strong knowledge of building services systems (M&E / HVAC)
- Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent)
- Good fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability
- Experience using CAFM systems or mobile reporting tools
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Comfortable working independently across multiple sites
Desirable
- 18th Edition (electrical bias)
- F‑Gas certification (HVAC bias)
- Experience within commercial environments such as FM, office, or retail sites
