We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth within our Catering division, which includes two market-leading product suites:

  • Cypad – Web-based school catering software used by 70 local authorities across 5,500 UK schools to improve kitchen management and service delivery.
  • BlueRunner – Cashless catering and meal ordering SaaS for the education sector, including POS, pre-order and click & collect solutions designed to increase efficiency, revenue, and reporting insight.

Reporting to the Head of New Business – Caterers, you will be responsible for growing revenue across the Cypad and BlueRunner portfolios within schools, local authorities, MATs, and catering providers. You will own a new business target of Β£250k+ and play a key role in expanding our customer base and maximising revenue.

You will identify new sales opportunities, drive upsell within existing accounts, and collaborate closely with Payments and Parental Engagement sales teams to maximise cross-product growth. This role requires strong sector knowledge in education and catering, commercial awareness, and the ability to adapt in a fast-moving environment. Regular travel, including some overnight stays, is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new business, expand into new markets, and develop strategic partnerships
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline and forecasts, reporting on performance and targets
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategy
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Key Accounts, Product, and Support to deliver a seamless customer experience
  • Provide customer and market feedback to improve products, services, and processes

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Strong understanding of school catering and enterprise sales across schools, MATs, LAs, and catering providers
  • Proven success in B2B sales with a track record of closing deals
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Commercially astute with excellent relationship-building and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Technically proficient (MS Office and modern business systems)
  • Able to prioritise, multitask, and collaborate effectively across teams
