Nanny duties and expectations:
A busy, relaxed professional household with two parents, two boys and pets. Both parents work from a home office and abroad; extended family helps with childcare. Seeking help with all aspects of running the household – from general daily cleaning, occasional deep cleans and laundry, to food preparation and cooking, plant care, and childcare including transporting boys to activities. Keeping on top of mud, dog hair, kitchen and laundry is a major part of the role.
Days and hours required:
Days of work: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
- Monday: 9–3
- Tuesday: 9–3
- Wednesday: 11–6
- Thursday: 11–6
- Friday: 9–3
Variation in hours: The hours remain the same all year round.
The children:
- Child 1: Boy, 9 years old, attends primary school, ADHD. No medical allergies. Friendly, bright, active, loves animals and science, needs help organising himself and starting projects.
- Child 2: Boy, 14 years old, attends secondary school, no special needs or allergies. Friendly, relaxed, loves surfing, skateboarding, scuba diving, self-sufficient, eats constantly.
Parents:
Both parents work partly at home and partly away from home.
Family household:
Detached house in country rural area – old granite farmhouse attached to a small farm undergoing renovations in 2027/28. Fully furnished. Pets: 2 geriatric cats and the host’s 2 rescue dogs (German Shepherd and Pointer). Two maternal grandparents often stay and help care for the boys.
Salary and perks:
Salary offered: £14–17 per hour.
Membership perks: Rural environment, own allotment use, share of homegrown food and flowers, flexibility with hours, friendly pets allowed.
Car use: A car is provided for work use only.
Additional perks: Share of farm produce (fruit, vegetables, flowers, sometimes honey). Pets can be brought to work and exercised on the farm if they are cat/dog/human-friendly.
The ideal candidate:
Qualified or experienced childcare professional with age-related experience, appropriate qualifications and excellent references. Must meet the requirements listed above.
