If so, this role gives you the chance to make a real difference, not just to the systems you design, but to the people and industries that rely on them.

About us: We are a leading UK technology company delivering transformative, data-driven solutions for the energy sector and beyond. With two decades of experience, we help organisations unlock the power of smart data to improve efficiency, reduce cost to serve, and enhance customer experience. Trusted by millions of households and major industry partners, our innovative platforms and energy data management solutions support a smarter, more sustainable future. Our passionate team of problem solvers is committed to building technology that truly makes a difference, and our promise is to put customers at the heart of everything we do.

What does this role involve? As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will take ownership of the design, delivery, and ongoing evolution of the organisation's core infrastructure. You will work across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, ensuring platforms are secure, highly available, and fit for future growth. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for an experienced infrastructure engineer who enjoys shaping platforms, solving complex problems, and building resilient systems at scale. You will be trusted to make technical decisions, influence best practice, and help move the infrastructure estate forward through automation and modern engineering approaches.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, configuring, and deploying robust infrastructure solutions across on-prem, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
  • Moving VM into containers.
  • Ensuring infrastructure platforms are secure, scalable, highly available, and optimised for performance and cost.
  • Taking ownership of operational excellence, including monitoring, maintenance, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Driving resilience and reliability through proactive capacity management, disaster recovery planning, and high-availability design.
  • Working closely with technical architects to turn high-level designs into reliable, production-ready solutions.
  • Collaborating with development, operations, and security teams to enable smooth delivery and seamless system integration.
  • Championing automation and Infrastructure as Code to reduce manual effort, increase consistency, and improve delivery speed.
  • Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, using them to continuously improve the infrastructure landscape.

Who are we looking for? We are looking for a senior-level engineer who combines deep technical expertise with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset. You will be comfortable working autonomously, influencing technical direction, and mentoring others when needed. You will bring:

  • Extensive experience designing and supporting infrastructure using Azure cloud platform.
  • Strong expertise in networking, firewalls, security, and platform reliability within complex environments.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform, automation, and CI/CD pipelines, and a passion for reducing manual processes.
  • A strong understanding of building and operating highly available, resilient, and scalable systems.
  • The confidence to work closely with architects and stakeholders, challenging designs where appropriate and improving outcomes.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with a genuine interest in modern infrastructure practices and emerging technologies.

This role will involve on-call working on a rota basis (24/7). To be successful in this role you will be required to pass an enhanced security vetting process.
