Bennett & Game are proud to be representing a leading Civil Engineering and Groundworks contractor based in Canterbury, who are seeking an Estimator to join their growing commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that has experienced significant growth over the past 12 months and continues to invest heavily in its people. Working alongside an experienced Senior Estimator, you'll play a key role in preparing competitive tenders across a varied portfolio of civil engineering, groundworks and drainage projects, while benefiting from genuine long-term career progression and funded professional development.
Estimator Job Overview- Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for civil engineering, groundworks and drainage projects.
- Complete quantity take-offs from drawings and tender documentation.
- Produce Bills of Quantities using estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, commercial and operational teams throughout the tender process.
- Obtain and review subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
- Assist in developing tender strategies and compiling submission documentation.
- Support the handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams.
- Maintain labour, plant and material cost databases.
- Work closely with an experienced Senior Estimator, gaining valuable mentoring and career development.
- Previous estimating experience within Civil Engineering, Groundworks, Drainage or Infrastructure projects.
- Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering background would be advantageous.
- Experience producing competitive tenders and completing quantity take-offs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Commutable to the Canterbury area.
- £50,000 - £60,000 DOE.
- £490 per month Car Allowance.
- 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
