A leading European financial services consultancy is expanding into the UK market and is seeking a senior Risk Lead to establish and grow its new London office. This is a strategic hire at Director/Partner level, responsible for building the UK business, developing client relationships, and shaping the firm's presence in the London financial services ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the launch and development of the consultancy's London office, including local strategy, market positioning, and business growth plan.
- Build and manage a portfolio of UK financial services clients across banking, insurance, asset management, and fintech sectors.
- Drive business development activities, leveraging a strong personal network in Risk Management and/or Transformation.
- Lead and oversee delivery of risk, regulatory, and transformation consulting engagements.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing UK consulting team.
- Act as the UK market representative, collaborating closely with European leadership to align growth priorities and service offerings.
- Build strategic partnerships and represent the firm at industry events, roundtables, and networks.
Required Experience
- 12+ years of experience in Risk Management or Transformation within consulting (Big 4, boutique consultancy, or equivalent).
- Strong commercial track record with the ability to originate, sell, and deliver consulting projects.
- Deep knowledge of UK financial services regulations, risk frameworks, and industry drivers.
- Proven credibility and relationships with senior stakeholders across the London financial sector.
- Experience in launching, scaling, or significantly growing a consulting practice is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to build and develop teams.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills; able to engage at C-suite level.
