Role Description

  • Provide Configuration and Data Management expertise to space programmes and projects across the full lifecycle, from delivery phase kick‑off through post‑launch operations and disposal.
  • Ensure effective control of requirements, design data, documentation, configuration baselines, and change throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Operate within the Space Business Unit, supporting multiple concurrent projects and programmes as required.
  • Establish and maintain robust, compliant configuration and data management practices aligned with project and business unit standards.
  • Enable clear definition, traceability, and status visibility of configured items, including as‑built configurations.
  • Support project teams by ensuring configuration and data integrity across engineering, assurance, and delivery activities.
  • Act as a key contributor to project governance by supporting reviews, milestones, and change control processes.
  • Focus on project‑based Configuration and Data Management activities within a complex, regulated engineering environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in Configuration and Data Management within complex engineering or regulated environments (space, aerospace, defence, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of change control, requirements management, and configuration baselining.
  • Experience working with requirement management tools (e.g. Jama Connect, IBM DOORS or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Product Assurance and Systems Engineering processes.
  • Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders across projects and functions.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain control across large datasets and documentation sets.
  • Experience, understanding and participation of project lifecycle reviews, such as Design Reviews and Verification Control Boards.
  • Qualify for high level UK Security Clearance.

Desirable Requirements

  • Familiarity with ECSS-M-ST-40C Rev 1 – Configuration and information management.
  • Experience within space programmes or safety critical systems.
