Overview
Join the growing team as a Service & Small Works Engineer at Paratus Health Systems in West London. This customer-facing role supports a diverse range of environments – Healthcare, Education, Leisure, and Stadia – ensuring building energy management systems operate efficiently, reliably, and in line with energy and carbon reduction objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and rectify complex faults across BEMS controllers, networks, field devices, control panels, and associated electrical systems.
- Deliver BEMS upgrades, modifications, and small works, including software changes, panel modifications, and system enhancements.
- Commission and validate small works, remedial actions, and system improvements, ensuring correct operation and compliance with specifications.
- Identify inefficient operations, poor control strategies, and optimisation opportunities to improve energy performance and reduce carbon impact.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing clear technical advice and upholding high standards of customer service.
- Support junior engineers and apprentices through hands‑on mentoring and technical guidance.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience as a BEMS / Controls Engineer in a live operational environment.
- Strong technical expertise in Trend systems and/or Tridium platforms, including configuration, commissioning, and optimisation.
- C&G Level 2 Electrical qualification (or equivalent) demonstrating a solid technical foundation.
- Proven ability in fault‑finding, diagnostics, and resolving complex system issues efficiently.
- Good working knowledge of mechanical plant and HVAC systems, with an understanding of how they integrate with BEMS.
- Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel to client sites as required.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently and proactively.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers, helping to develop technical capability within the team.
- Agenuine interest in energy management, system optimisation, and performance improvement.
Desirable
- Tridium Niagara N4 Certification, demonstrating advanced knowledge of open‑protocol BMS platforms.
- Trend Expert status (current or previous), reflecting a high level of technical proficiency and system mastery.
- Experience working with Siemens Desigo, X‑Works, and/or Insight systems, with the ability to support, maintain, and optimise complex BMS environments.
