We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team based in Warrington. This is a hybrid position. The Assistant Management Accountant supports the finance team in delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting. The role assists with month-end processes, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and providing financial analysis to business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure they are fully supported and up to date.
- Support variance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Help with forecasting and budgeting processes, including data collection and model updates.
- Work with budget holders to gather financial information and support cost monitoring.
- Assist with audit queries and year-end processes.
- Support process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reporting quality.
- Prepare weekly/monthly KPI and financial performance reports.
- Ensure financial deadlines are met and escalate issues promptly.
- Studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent).
- Good understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, formulas).
- Experience working with ERP/finance systems (desirable).
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop within a finance role.
