At Paramount, we work together to ensure smooth and successful transmission of Channel 5 programming. As an Operations Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our Operations & Technology department. We collaborate across teams to maintain detailed communication with both internal and external partners, ensuring that all technical and operational functions run efficiently!

In this role, you will be at the heart of our broadcast operations, supporting our Broadcast Services Management Team by running the departmental email inbox, responding to queries, and keeping everyone informed. We work closely with teams such as Creative, Compliance, Press/Comms, Commercial Partnerships, and Scheduling to ensure programme content is processed and delivered to meet their needs!

What will you be doing?

  • Support the Broadcast Operations department by monitoring and running the email inbox, ensuring queries are addressed promptly.
  • Handle ingest, technical quality control, and transcoding of programme material to prepare it for transmission.
  • Edit video content as directed by the Broadcast Operations management team.
  • Prepare and upload video programme material for viewing on the press browse system.
  • Handle and maintain media databases by coordinating and housekeeping programme files.
  • Conduct daily checks on processed materials and deliveries, ensuring everything is in order.
  • Review programme missing lists and take action to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Coordinate access services requirements, raise work orders, and follow up on missing items.
  • Re-version subtitle and audio description files as required.
  • Champion collaboration across Paramount teams, ensuring a detailed workflow.
  • Represent Paramount’s values and contribute to a culture of inclusion and partnership.

  • Basic knowledge of video standards and file types, video codecs ideal.
  • Basic knowledge and experience of Premier, FCP & Avid editing ideal.
  • IT skills with experience of using Windows operating systems.
