Our clients are looking for Highways Operatives to join their hardworking dedicated team in the Exeter area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, ranging from Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways and General Highway Maintenance.
- Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
- Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the day to day tasks set.
- Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.
- Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.
Essential Skills:
- CSCS Card essential
- Driving License ideally clean some points accepted
- A commitment to Health and Safety.
- Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
- Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
Desirable Skills:
- Highways experience.
- HGV licence.
- New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) not essential
- Operative Accreditation Lantra 12D not essential
Rate of Pay:
- £12.21 - £13.50 per hour depending upon experience.
- Overtime at 150% after 40 hours
- These will be PAYE positions so you will benefit from.
- Accrued Holiday Pay from day one.
- Pension contributions (after a qualifying period).
- Weekly Pay.
- No Umbrella payments or fees.
- Only Tax and National Insurance deductions and this will be shown on your payslip.
