We require a Production Planner to work within the Firth Vickers Production Team to ensure the production plan and on-time delivery KPI’s are kept at a high standard and work with customers to give daily/weekly updates on live production orders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Scheduling: Develop daily, weekly, production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and customer orders.
  • Daily time bookings – Data entry against the plan.
  • Evaluating raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production needs.
  • Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management.
  • Handling production disruptions and productivity problems with the production team.
  • Liaise with customers on daily weekly production updates.
  • Ensure the Transport Plan is implemented & deal with any required changes.
  • Regular communication with the dispatch team.
  • Review production documentation prior to release.
  • Collect and document PODs for VAT purposes.
  • Scan in and save all related paperwork for audit purposes.
  • Raise purchase orders.

You will need to be proficient using ERP/MRP software, strong inventory and capacity planning abilities, rigorous numerical analysis, and cross-departmental problem-solving to prevent bottlenecks.

Quality Control Awareness

Ensuring that schedule adjustments and rapid production runs do not compromise the company’s quality standards.

Risk Management

Contingency planning to quickly reroute materials and adapt schedules when supply chain disruptions or equipment failures occur.
