An exciting opportunity has arisen for multiple CNC Millers and Vertical & horizontal Borer operators to join our expanding site at the Tees Advance Manufacturing Park, Middlesbrough. Reporting to the Team Leaders, your primary duty will be to set and operate CNC machines and your key responsibilities will include:
- Operating machines to required quality standards and in accordance with set procedures, engineering drawings and specifications.
- Programming machines to prepare jaws, parallels, jigs or fixtures for each batch run.
- Depending on skill level, programming machines for small batch runs.
- Proving out first off production in accordance with the Production Engineer and running batches to SOP’s and routing instructions once in serial production.
- Working with a range of materials including Alloy steels, nickel based alloys, super alloys, stainless and duplex alloys.
- Interpreting engineering drawings and working with imperial and metric measures.
- Using a range of measuring equipment and having a working knowledge of inspection procedures for in process inspection and first off batch control.
- Working as part of the team and interfacing with the production support departments including production control, engineering, Inspection, and maintenance.
- Operating computer systems for the loading of programs and recording of work activities.
- Supporting all training activities.
- Working in a positive and safe manner; driving productivity and leading by example with regard to the company’s quality, health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Carrying out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected.
The Person: You must be time served (or possess other equivalent qualifications) with previous experience of CNC Turning preferably using a Fanuc control system and live tooling. You must possess strong communication and problem solving skills as well as good knowledge of production processes and systems. You are also required to demonstrate a positive and motivated approach to your work combined with an ability to work to a high standard within time constraints. Working hours are 40 per week and you will be required to work shift patterns. This is an opportunity to join a progressive well‑established business where you can develop experience working on high precision parts for a range of customers in the Aerospace, Defence, Energy and Chemical sectors.
