Parallel Resource is partnering with a major national contractor to hire an experienced Bid Manager for their Southern Region. The role involves client engagement, developing bid strategies, managing the bid process, preparing responses, writing and reviewing bids, and coordinating teams to drive successful outcomes. This position is part of the pre-construction team, collaborating closely with the framework group to prepare bids and manage frameworks for major construction clients, including Central Government, Health, Defence, as well as regional and commercial partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of bid management, including pre-tender preparation, supplier questionnaires (SQ), invitations to tender (ITT), clarification processes, contract execution, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage comprehensive bid plans detailing bid programmes, responsibility matrices, trackers, reminders, resource schedules, and governance protocols.
- Prepare prequalification and tender submission documents, ensuring effective coordination of technical content, consultant engagement, and rigorous bid review procedures.
- Manage the flow of client information and oversee the clarification procedures, including distribution and tracking of clarification logs and internal action items.
- Facilitate bid preparation and strategy workshops, as well as coordinate external consultants when required.
- Gather market intelligence and formulate competitive bid strategies.
- Coordinate and document meetings, such as weekly progress updates and bid review gateways, to ensure seamless communication and project tracking.
- Ensure all submissions and project documentation are compliant, of high quality, and delivered within established deadlines.
- Collaborate with the graphics team to develop compelling visuals and enhance document presentation for client submissions.
- Contribute to best practice standards and foster consistency throughout the tender management process.
- Lead bid reviews and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Engage with regional teams to secure positions on local and regional frameworks and call-off projects where necessary.
- Prepare supporting materials and reports for Tender Settlement and internal governance gateways.
- Maintain a centralized library of standard documents to support bids, marketing efforts, presentations, and project data sheets.
- Cultivate framework networks, proactively promote the companyโs profile, and maintain strong relationships with national and regional teams, clients, framework partners, and other key stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Demonstrated expertise in framework tender processes.
- Proven experience in managing construction bids.
- Track record of successful bid writing for winning tenders.
