The role itself will involve working with a varied portfolio of clients and completing a range of bookkeeping duties, including bookkeeping, VAT returns, reconciliations and general client accounts work. You will also speak directly with clients and HMRC, so you will need to be comfortable and confident on the telephone.
This role could suit someone at the early stages of their accountancy career who wants to join a firm that will support their studies and help them progress. Equally, it would suit an experienced practice bookkeeper who knows their way around client work and is simply looking for a well-run firm where they can do a great job without the unnecessary pressure or politics.
You will be trusted to get on with your work, while having approachable partners and colleagues around you when you need advice or support. There is a genuine opportunity to develop your skills, take on more responsibility and build a long-term career with the firm.
What matters most is that you are:
- Experienced in bookkeeping, ideally within an accountancy practice
- Comfortable working with a range of clients
- Confident speaking with clients and HMRC
- Organised, reliable and able to manage your own workload
- Someone who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
- Keen to work somewhere supportive, friendly and genuinely team-focused
