This independent advisory firm is building its services around what entrepreneurial business owners are asking for: advice that connects tax with the wider decisions they are making about their businesses and personal wealth. Joining now gives you the opportunity to influence how that offering develops.
Led by a founder recognised in Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe, the firm has doubled its revenue in each of the past four years. It is investing in senior expertise and bringing tax, strategic advisory and wealth management closer together, with the ambition of becoming a leading independent alternative to the Big Four.
A major wealth-management partnership is already in place. Alongside the practice, the founder is building a private members’ club for successful entrepreneurs, with direct access to the tax advisory team included in the membership.
A tax advisory team is already in place, delivering complex work for the firm’s existing clients. The firm is now strengthening that team with senior expertise and leadership as demand for its advisory services grows.
The firm is making separate appointments at Tax Manager and Head of Department level across four specialist tax areas:
- Corporate Tax
- International Tax
- Mergers and Acquisitions Tax
- Private Client Tax
You need depth in one of these areas, not expertise across all four.
Corporate clients typically have turnover between £1 million and £30 million, while private clients generally have personal wealth between £3 million and £100 million. But the real interest is in what they are doing. They are buying businesses, expanding overseas, restructuring groups, bringing in investment, planning succession and deciding what comes next for the wealth they have created. Their business and personal interests frequently overlap, creating varied, technically challenging work with a clear commercial purpose.
Depending on your specialism, you could be helping an owner structure an acquisition, prepare for international expansion or navigate the tax implications of a major change in their business or personal circumstances. You will work directly with founders and decision-makers, understand what they want to achieve and turn complex tax questions into advice they can act on. The emphasis is on advisory work, rather than routine compliance.
You will have direct access to the Tax Director, Founder and senior leadership, with the opportunity to contribute ideas, challenge thinking and influence how your specialist department develops. Working alongside the existing team, you will help deepen its expertise and take meaningful ownership of client relationships and advisory work. There is scope to grow your responsibility as the business expands and contribute to the development of colleagues around you.
Alongside fully remote UK working and a competitive basic salary, there is a performance incentive worth up to 50% of basic salary, linked to performance against Key Performance Indicators.
A practice background is essential. These appointments are exclusively for tax professionals with experience gained in an accountancy practice or specialist tax advisory practice, including Big Four, national and regional firms. You will bring substantial advisory experience in at least one of the four areas, strong technical judgement and the ability to speak confidently with business owners. A relevant professional qualification, or equivalent technical expertise, should be supported by a track record of turning complex issues into clear, practical advice.
If you want your next move to offer interesting clients, greater influence and the opportunity to help shape what comes next, please get in touch for a confidential conversation.
