The Role
This role is crucial to managing the sales operations in the UK and Europe. It is a results‑driven, hands‑on role that focuses on both short‑ and long‑term sales opportunities and marketing activity planning. The Sales and Marketing Manager will drive the current product group to continued success, aligning technical developments with identified customer needs, generating sales leads, and delivering a sales pipeline to drive strong revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and undertake key sales activities to deliver sales growth in the UK and Europe through well‑organised and executed sales and marketing programmes.
- Build, develop and manage the processes and operations that underpin successful sales operations and ensure strong communication and collaboration internally to deliver excellent customer service.
- Own the CRM activities and tools and ensure colleagues are bought in, understand and are engaged with the critical data entry and reporting processes of the system.
- Act as a bridge between the Application/Product teams and the Commercial team to provide technical feedback to the sales force and commercial feedback to the technical teams.
- Ensure comprehensive market surveillance operations identify relevant additional opportunities as the performance of the products develops, continually scoping emerging and developing technology fields that may be applicable.
- Track and follow up requests from potential customers, partners and external stakeholders to ensure that opportunities are supported both commercially and technically.
- Champion the customer internally at Paragraf, ensuring their requests, comments and needs are heard and assessed correctly and objectively.
- Manage the Commercial and Marketing Teams to promote the company at networking and trade events, global exhibitions and conferences, planning proactive product launch or business‑development campaigns with the teams to ensure return on investment of activities and clearly communicate customer value propositions derived from the features, advantages and benefits of the products.
- Deliver and/or arrange technical/scientific seminars and presentations describing product lines, company mission and development strategies to promote the potential of the graphene‑based components to relevant market segments.
- Represent the company by clearly and consistently communicating the company's mission, values and goals.
- Complete other duties commensurate with the role's level as requested by your manager.
Requirements
Education and Qualifications
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject such as business or a science/engineering/maths discipline.
- Understanding of commercial technology transfer processes.
- Capability to quickly grasp new scientific concepts and technologies with the ability to identify commercial potential.
- Fluency in additional languages would be an advantage but not essential.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Business Central and CRM software is desirable.
Skills & Experience
Technology Evangelism & Customer Integration
- Proven senior experience selling disruptive or emerging technology solutions into technical and commercial markets, ideally in a semiconductor, electronics or emerging technology environment, delivering challenging sales targets, establishing and building relationships internally and externally and coordinating commercial projects successfully.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts and articulate strong value propositions to a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capability to understand product architectures, integrations and use cases at a practical level.
- Experience supporting customers through product evaluation, technical integration, and adoption processes.
- Strong advisory skills, with the ability to guide customer decision‑making and act as a trusted technical‑commercial partner.
Sales Excellence & Market Development
- Track record of success in solution‑based or technical sales.
- Experience developing new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts.
- Proven experience in managing pipelines, forecasting accurately and executing structured sales processes.
- Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to influence decision makers at all organisational levels.
Product Marketing & Go‑to‑Market Skills
- Experience of translating advanced technology into clear, compelling messaging, positioning and value‑driven content.
- Proven ability to create effective marketing collateral such as datasheets, presentations, case studies and digital content.
- Understanding of market dynamics, customer needs and competitive landscapes to ensure messaging is relevant and differentiated.
- Experience supporting or shaping go‑to‑market strategies for innovative products.
Event, Trade Show & Campaign Execution
- Hands‑on experience of planning and delivering trade shows, industry events or customer‑facing demonstrations to deliver sales leads.
- Ability to define event objectives, messaging themes, booth layouts, demo requirements and follow‑up engagement plans as well as evaluate event ROI and apply insights to future campaigns.
- Strong organisational skills and experience coordinating across internal teams to deliver successful events.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience working closely with engineering, product, finance and leadership teams, with ability to present information clearly and appropriately to the audience.
- Ability to capture and translate customer insights and market feedback into actionable recommendations for product development.
- Comfortable operating in fast‑moving, evolving technology environments where adaptability and initiative are essential.
Team Leadership and Commercial Targets
- Experience of delivering challenging commercial targets and managing a team who coordinate and work to support the delivery of objectives enthusiastically and successfully.
