Make a Difference – Become a Children’s Support Worker with Paragon Social Care. At Paragon Social Care, that’s exactly what you’ll be doing. We’re seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated individuals to join our wonderful team of Children’s Support Workers — people who are ready to support young lives as they grow, heal, and flourish.
Whether you already have experience in care or you’re looking for a meaningful new direction, this is your chance to make a long-lasting difference to children and young people who need safety, stability, and hope.
At Paragon Social Care, our vision is simple: “Excellence Through Understanding.” We deliver 24/7 wraparound support for children and young people in local authority care during periods of uncertainty and transition. Our mission is to provide environments that are safe, caring, and empowering, while helping every young person work towards a brighter future. Every child deserves compassion, opportunity, and someone who believes in them — and that person could be you.
As a Children’s Support Worker, you will:
- Offer trauma-informed care to ensure young people are safe and supported
- Support education, prepare meals, and accompany children to appointments
- Transport young people to activities or appointments using your own car
- Help them move forward with hope and confidence
Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary) is required.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car is necessary.
Flexibility to work varied shifts (including weekends, sleep-ins, and waking nights) is essential.
A clear enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
A relevant qualification (such as NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or equivalent) is preferred but not essential — full training is provided.
Competitive pay: £17.50 – £28.00 per hour (depending on shift type).
Extensive training: 21 online modules plus in-person courses in safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, positive behaviour support, and PACE training.
Career progression: Clear pathways to Senior Support Worker and beyond.
Flexible scheduling, casual dress code, company pension, and referral bonuses are also offered.
Every shift gives you the chance to reshape a story and bring stability, hope, and possibility into a child’s world. If you bring the passion, we’ll provide the training, support, and opportunities to make a genuine difference.
This role requires an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check due to working with vulnerable young people. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people is essential, and all applicants must be committed to this responsibility.
