Job Description
As a Care Support Worker at Waves, you are a vital member of our care team, responsible for delivering compassionate, high-quality, and personalised support to individuals with learning disabilities and Autism. You will promote dignity, independence, and well-being in line with individual care plans. The role also involves contributing to a vibrant and supportive environment by assisting in activities and fostering strong relationships with service users, families, and the team.
Day-Day Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional personal care in accordance with individual lifting, handling, and care plans, including risk assessments.
- Ensure a consistently high standard of personal hygiene for service users.
- Review and familiarise yourself with care plans via our online software prior to undertaking any care tasks.
- Provide support in service users’ homes and, where required, within other departments including domiciliary care and the challenging behaviour unit.
- Ensure daily activities run smoothly and contribute to the well-being and engagement of service users. Develop and initiate new activities tailored to the interests and abilities of service users to enhance their quality of life.
- Encourage participation and support social interaction among members.
- Utilise digital care tools to manage tasks effectively throughout the day.
- Take initiative in identifying operational challenges and contribute to service improvements.
- Maintain open and constructive communication with the Waves Senior Leadership Team regarding suggestions and concerns.
- Health, Safety, and Environment
- Adhere to Waves’ Health and Safety policies, including fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Promptly report damaged or faulty equipment and any safety hazards via the online reporting system.
- Follow safe working procedures to ensure a secure and hazard-free environment for all.
