Our client is seeking a permanent fully qualified electrician to join their operations team, covering the Braintree and Halstead areas. Initially working in the Voids team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering responsive electrical repairs and maintenance across residential properties. You will ensure electrical repairs and installations are carried out efficiently and in line with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) while maintaining excellent customer service for tenants.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out responsive electrical repairs and maintenance in occupied and void properties.
- Ensure all work complies with the latest electrical regulations and safety standards.
- Support planned electrical installations when required.
- Participate in electrical testing and inspection programmes to maintain compliance.
- Manage your own workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Respond to tenant enquiries in a professional and customer-focused manner.
- Work closely with managers, technical staff, and other trades.
- Maintain safe working practices in line with company policies and health & safety regulations.
- Provide support or mentoring to trainees when required.
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified electrician.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (City & Guilds 2382).
- AM2 / AM2S qualification depending on qualification route.
- Experience in property maintenance or the construction industry.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily workload.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Basic IT skills and experience using smartphones or tablets for job reporting.

- City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection and Testing
- C&G 2377 – Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
- Experience working within social housing.
