About the Role - A Meaningful and Supportive Role: We are supporting a lady in her 70s who has a spinal cord injury and is paralysed in her lower limbs. She also has a stoma and is currently on bed rest due to a pressure injury. With the right support, she is keen to build back up again, regain confidence and work towards being more active in her day-to-day life. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys building a consistent relationship with one client and supporting both clinical care and independence at home.
The role will involve:
- Personal care
- Stoma-related support
- Pressure area care
- Day-to-day assistance
- Rehab-focused encouragement, including physio exercises, stretches and support with gradually increasing activity
- PA-style support may also be included
Consistency and reliability will be important for this package. You will be supported by Paragon's clinical and operational team, working to a structured care plan.

- Pay Rate: £16.87 - £20.24/hr
- Weekday: £16.87/hr
- Weekends: £20.24/hr
- Location: HP3- Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
- Driver: Essential due to remote location
As part of a small specialist team:
- Occasional flexibility to support alternative shifts if required
- Supporting sickness and annual leave cover
- Helping maintain consistency across the team
- Being proactive with rehab-focused encouragement and day-to-day support
Training & Support: Paragon is a specialist provider of spinal cord injury and complex care. You’ll receive full training before you start, and where possible, time will be given to get familiar with the care routine. No previous experience with spinal care is needed.

What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in complex care or spinal injury care preferred
- Comfortable supporting personal care and stoma-related needs
- Female carers preferred for personal care
- Reliable, observant, and proactive
- Able to encourage rehab, movement, stretches and independence
- Practical and confident with day-to-day support and PA-type tasks
- Own transport or reliable travel arrangements essential
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Female carer required due to the need to provide personal care (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1).
