We are seeking a calm and dependable support worker to join our team in Seaford, BN25. This is a great opportunity for someone local to provide structured support to a gentleman living with a brain injury when additional cover is needed.

About the Role:

You will be joining a care team supporting a retired gentleman with a brain injury who lives at home in a beautiful coastal area. A regular live-in carer is already in place, and we are now looking for a local standby support worker who can cover full day shifts (e.g. 8am-8pm) when needed. The client is physically mobile, enjoys outings, and responds well to calm, structured support. His brain injury affects cognition and emotions, and he may occasionally present with disinhibited behaviour. He lives with his partner, who is adjusting after her own recent injury and also benefits from some low-level support.

You will be working closely with both of them during your shifts, offering reassurance, assistance with routines, and practical help as needed. You must be a confident driver who is happy to drive either the client or his partner for outings, appointments, or errands as part of your role.

As their standby support worker, you will be:

  • Providing full daytime support during scheduled shifts
  • Encouraging independence while supporting daily routines
  • Assisting with daily living tasks, emotional reassurance, and companionship
  • Supporting the client's partner as needed during your shift
  • Driving either the client or his partner to appointments or local outings
  • Managing occasional disinhibition with calm, confident support
  • Driving your own vehicle to and from the client's home (must be within 30 minutes)
  • Working alongside or stepping in for the live-in carer during agreed cover periods

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Day shifts (e.g. 8am - 8pm), scheduled in advance as needed
  • Pay Rate: £13.00 - £15.00 per hour (depending on experience and shift type)
  • Location: Seaford, BN25 coastal town with beautiful scenery
  • Driver: Essential - must have your own transport, live within 30 minutes, and be confident driving the client or his partner
  • Start Date: Ongoing - role is active and shifts are available

What We're Looking For:

A calm, confident support worker with experience in brain injury or complex care. You must live locally and be able to travel reliably to the client's home. You'll need to be flexible, work well independently or alongside others, and bring a steady presence to help maintain a stable care environment. A warm and adaptable approach is key, especially when supporting both the client and his partner.

Training & Support:

We are a specialist provider of complex neurological care and will ensure you are fully briefed and prepared before your first shift. You will also receive ongoing support from our coordination and clinical team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone looking to offer meaningful 1:1 support, work within an established care plan, and be part of a warm and committed team. If you are interested or know someone who might be a good fit, please get in touch!
