About the Role
We're looking for friendly, reliable male carers to join a well-run care package supporting a gentleman with a spinal cord injury in Clapham, SW4. This is a great opportunity to be part of a long-term team providing one-to-one care in a supportive, organised home environment.
Responsibilities
You'll be working in the client's own home, where he lives with his wife and adult children. He has lived with his injury for many years and is very clear about how he likes things done. He leads a busy, active life and goes out daily with support from his carers, so being a confident driver who is happy to get out and about is a must. Your day will include personal care, supporting mobility, helping with equipment like hoists and CPAP, and generally making sure the day runs smoothly. The client values professionalism, good hygiene and a tidy appearance – carers change into clean clothes on arrival and wear indoor shoes in the house. This is a role where clear boundaries, a positive attitude and a respectful approach are really important. Where possible, a short introduction and shadowing shift may be offered before starting to help you settle in and get familiar with the routine.
