Join Paragon Home Healthcare as a Support Carer and make a real difference in one person's life while working alongside a highly experienced Critical Care Nurse. We are looking for compassionate and reliable Support Carers to assist a lovely lady in Eastbourne who requires complex care following a spinal cord injury. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in advanced care including tracheostomy and ventilator support under the guidance of an experienced nurse and our Nurse Practitioner team.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting personal care, mobility, and daily routines
  • Assisting with hoist transfers and bowel management
  • Working collaboratively with the lead nurse to ensure safe and dignified care
  • Maintaining clear records and ensuring the care plan is followed
  • Supporting a calm and positive environment for the client

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Day and waking night shifts
  • Shift Pattern: Day 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Night 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM
  • Pay Rate: Weekday (Day): £17.70/hour, Weekends (Day or Night): £21.24/hour, Nights (any day): £21.24/hour
  • Bank Holidays paid at 150% and Christmas at 200% (double pay)
  • Location: Eastbourne BN20

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous care experience
  • A compassionate and proactive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and follow clinical guidance
  • Own transport required (due to location)
  • Female carer required due to the need to provide personal care (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1).

Training & Support:

Paragon is a specialist provider of spinal cord injury and complex care. You'll receive full training before you start, and where possible, time will be given to get familiar with the care routine. No previous experience with spinal care is needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Observe and record the client's health status.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living.
  • Ensure the client's safety.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Notify clients of changes in medications.
  • Arrange transportation for client appointments.
