About the Role

We are seeking capable female carers to provide live-in support for a lovely lady in the CT14 postcode area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long‑term care package that values dignity, creativity, and consistency. You’ll be supporting a warm and independent‑minded lady living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) who is returning home from a nursing home. She has complex care needs including fatigue that affects communication, swallowing difficulties requiring modified meals, catheter care (including washouts), and hoisted transfers. She enjoys the little things that help her feel like herself—blow‑drying her hair, wearing make‑up, and getting out for meals. She also loves cooking and creative engagement, and is looking for carers who respect her routines and individuality.

To maintain privacy during intimate care, this role is open to female carers only, in line with a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

As Her Carer, You Will Be:

  • Supporting hoisted transfers from bed to chair and other daily routines
  • Preparing modified meals and encouraging good hydration
  • Helping to implement a bowel management plan post‑discharge
  • Assisting with communication using tools and visual aids
  • Providing gentle emotional support and help with personal grooming
  • Supporting household tasks, light admin, and budgeting

Job Details

  • Job Type: Live‑in
  • Rota: Shifts are usually between 2‑4 weeks live‑in at a time, may shift slightly while things are being established. Alternatively, if eligible, you can be part of our Standby rota working conveniently from home.
  • Pay rate: £146.33 per day
  • Travel allowance: Competitive travel allowance for each placement.
  • Food allowance: Competitive food allowance per day, if applicable.
  • Location: CT14 postcode area (Kent)
  • Driver: Carer must be a confident driver with clean driver’s licence – the client enjoys getting out and values independence.

Live‑In Care Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care, mobility, meal prep, and daily living activities
  • Provide support with spinal injury care and encourage independence
  • Observe and record the client’s health status and ensure their safety and well‑being
  • Arrange transportation for appointments, outings, and travel when required

What We’re Looking For

Female carer required due to the need to provide personal care (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1). We welcome applications from female carers who are kind, dependable and confident supporting someone in their own home. You don’t need spinal injury experience – just a willingness to learn, a common‑sense approach and the ability to follow the client’s lead. A calm, adaptable, and friendly female carer who enjoys building trust and rapport. You’ll need to feel confident supporting complex physical needs with warmth and professionalism, and be happy to work closely alongside another carer as part of a live‑in set‑up.

  • Patience and emotional intelligence
  • Confidence using communication aids and following care guidance
  • A good sense of humour and a gentle, person‑centred approach

Training & Support

Paragon is a specialist provider of spinal cord injury and complex care. You’ll receive full training before you start, and where possible, time will be given to get familiar with the care routine. No previous experience with spinal care is needed.
