We are seeking a compassionate and confident day carer to support a gentleman in Woolwich, SE18. This is an excellent opportunity to join a care package focused on providing thoughtful, structured support to someone living with multiple health needs.

About the Role:

You’ll be supporting an older gentleman in his own home with personal care, mobility, and practical daily tasks. He’s a proud East Londoner – straightforward, grounded, and appreciates carers who are warm, reliable, and easy to talk to. He is diabetic and has recently experienced a drop in stamina, so he benefits from steady support to maintain routines and independence.

Please note that the client is a smoker and does smoke indoors, so this role involves working in a smoking environment. The care requires someone calm, consistent, and proactive – able to support with physical care, medication, household tasks, and a bit of gentle encouragement to keep things on track. Available shifts may increase in the future.

As his carer, you will be:

  • Assisting with transfers, personal care, and bedtime routines
  • Preparing meals and drinks, supporting healthy dietary choices
  • Completing light domestic tasks, shopping, and household admin
  • Driving or accompanying to appointments, outings, and social activities
  • Supporting with medication, therapy exercises, and basic tech use
  • Encouraging conversation, comfort, and emotional well-being

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Day shifts (Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 10am to 8pm)
  • Pay Rate: £16.22 per hour (weekdays) / £19.47 per hour (weekends)
  • Location: Woolwich, SE18
  • Driver: Helpful but not essential
  • Start Date: 28th April

What We’re Looking For:

A calm, patient, and professional carer who is confident working independently and supporting both practical and emotional needs. You’ll need to be organised, observant, and respectful of the client’s preferences and home environment. A down-to-earth and friendly manner is key. Applicants must be comfortable working in a smoking household.

Training & Support:

We are a specialist provider of complex care and will provide full training and handover to help you deliver consistent, high-quality care. You will also be supported by a named Care Manager and coordination team throughout.
