A Unique and Inspiring Role: We are supporting a young medical student (early 20s) who sustained a high-level spinal cord injury while on holiday from university. He is exceptionally bright, motivated, and determined to return to his studies and live as independently as possible. He has a very positive mindset and is fully engaged in his care and future. He lives in a fully adapted family home in Oxfordshire with a specialist care setup and strong family support. He is also one of a very small number of people in the UK to have a Neuralink implant, allowing him to control his laptop through thought. It's a fascinating and rewarding environment to work in. This is a meaningful, long-term package, where consistency and quality of care are essential.

Clinical Overview:

  • Ventilated via tracheostomy
  • Requires airway clearance support and suctioning
  • Autonomic dysreflexia risk and blood pressure instability
  • Periods where communication may be limited

You will be working alongside a Critical Care RN, supporting a high-acuity care plan.

Care Model:

  • 24/7 package
  • 2:1 care at all times: 1 x Critical Care RN, 1 x Complex HCA
  • You will be part of a small, consistent team, ensuring continuity and high standards of care.

Shift Pattern:

  • NIGHTS ONLY (Fixed 4-Week Rota)
  • 20:00 - 08:00
  • Pattern C: Week 1: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat; Week 2: Wed, Thu, Sun; Week 3: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat; Week 4: Wed, Thu, Sun
  • Pattern D: Week 1: Wed, Thu, Sun; Week 2: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat; Week 3: Wed, Thu, Sun; Week 4: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat
  • 34 shifts per week
  • Fully predictable rota

Team Flexibility:

  • As part of a small specialist team: Occasional flexibility to support day shifts if required
  • Supporting sickness and annual leave cover
  • Maintaining consistency across day and night teams

Pay (PAYE Only): £21.24/hr
