DCX is an independent digital and communications agency group. With 300 people operating across our agency brands – DCX, Celerity, Reason and Despark, each agency has a specialism, but collectively we can offer best-in-class, end-to-end solutions that span strategy, data, content, digital and activation, offering a real alternative to the major networks.
DCX is backed by a larger business – Paragon, a privately owned and hugely successful communications group with revenues over £1bn. The development of DCX is critically important to Paragon, which means we have the financial backing and highest level of stakeholder buy‐in to support our growth. We can build and buy capabilities to capitalize on future market potential – an exciting time to join.
In September 2022, DCX was formed from the merger of two long‐standing powerhouse agencies – a digital transformation specialist and a data‐driven marketing partner. This created a full‐service digital transformation and marketing agency and consultancy that combines the power of data with compelling creative and digital technology to help clients connect better with their customers and deliver better outcomes.
At this exciting phase of our journey, we are looking for exceptionally talented people to join the team. Skills are important, but we're looking for the right attitude, personality and culture to drive DCX to the next level.
We are looking to bring in a Business Development Manager to identify, open and close new business opportunities across the Agency, focusing on selling creative and marketing campaign services. We already serve clients including Levi's, GAP, Direct Line Group, Hyundai, Waitrose and many more.
Reporting to the head of growth, the Business Development Manager will focus on net‐new growth. This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports; the role works alongside another sales lead as part of the Growth and Marketing team.
Responsibilities and requirements:
- Build a pipeline of new prospects, focusing on selling creative and marketing campaign services.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Work with marketing and growth teams to develop outbound lead generation campaigns.
- Act as an ambassador for the DCX brand.
- Network and attend events to generate new prospects.
- Identify and respond to published tenders.
- Manage pipeline accuracy and reporting within Salesforce CRM.
- Own and direct new business proposals and pitches, working closely with subject‐matter experts to deliver compelling solutions.
About you:
With a focus on finding, qualifying and converting new business, you likely have a background in marketing and communications sales roles. You are ambitious, bringing a high volume of quality leads into the business, and have experience in a creative, data‐driven and marketing communications environment. You are highly motivated by striking up new conversations, hunting for problems we can solve and opening doors to actively drive a significant pipeline within and across our propositions. Our approach is consultative – we listen to challenges, adapt our offering, and value trust and longevity of relationships.
To be successful, you must have:
- A proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to implement successful sales strategies.
- Experience managing complex sales engagements.
- Strong analytical and financial management skills.
What you get in return:
- A salary commensurate with experience and proven success.
- 25 days annual leave.
- 8 UK bank holidays.
- Pension.
- A range of benefits that are continually reviewed and enhanced.
- Enhanced family benefits – our families are important.
- Access to an extensive colleague assistance program.
- Great office environment with hybrid tech, great rest and break‐out areas.
- Collaboration from day one – you will love our people and the values we live and breathe.
- Opportunity and autonomy to excel.
