What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead analysis of monthly and quarterly provision movements, identifying the key drivers across portfolio mix, credit performance, model behaviour, macroeconomic assumptions and overlays.
  • Support the preparation, control and interpretation of provision outputs and related financial postings, ensuring reported numbers are robust, explainable and appropriately governed.
  • Monitor developments in accounting, regulatory and market practice and assess their relevance to the Group’s ECL framework, including emerging themes that may need to be reflected over time.
  • Work closely with Credit Risk and other stakeholders to understand portfolio performance, key assumptions and changes that may affect provision outcomes.
  • Support and influence model validation, audit and governance activity by providing clear analysis, documentation and responses to challenge.

About You

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Strong experience in IFRS 9 impairment, with a practical understanding of how PD, LGD, EAD, staging and scenarios combine to produce ECL outcomes.
  • Ability to analyse and clearly explain provision movements, model behaviour and emerging risks to Finance, Risk and senior stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of model governance, validation and controls, and the confidence to respond constructively to challenge.
  • Awareness of how provision models interact with wider frameworks (e.g., stress testing / regulatory models), and the ability to take a holistic view of risk.
  • Strong analytical capability (SQL / Excel) combined with sound judgement and a clear sense of ownership for outputs.

Working hours

Hybrid working – 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
