About The Role

We're seeking an experienced Treasury or Financial Markets Professional who is passionate about financial markets and looking to further develop their career within a dynamic and high performing Treasury function. In return, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of treasury activities, work alongside experienced professionals, and play a key role in supporting the Bank's liquidity, funding and investment strategies.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Executing a range of treasury products, including interest rate and FX swaps, money market investments, repo transactions and purchasing fixed income securities, in accordance with Market Risk Policy.
  • Participating in Bank of England Sterling Monetary Framework (SMF) operations and funding activities, working closely with Treasury ALM colleagues to support the Bank's liquidity and funding strategy.
  • Monitoring financial markets, yield curves, interest rate expectations and macroeconomic developments, providing market intelligence and trade ideas to support treasury investment and hedging decisions.
  • Assisting in the management of the Bank's interest rate and FX hedging portfolios, supporting hedge execution, performance monitoring and analysis of balance sheet exposures.
  • Supporting the liquidity and cash management activities across the Group, ensuring optimal deployment of surplus funds, efficient collateral management and compliance with internal liquidity risk frameworks.
  • Management of the Bank's High-Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA) portfolio, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, risk appetite and investment guidelines.
  • Producing insightful, high-quality reporting, management information and portfolio analytics to support decision-making by senior management, ALCO and governance committees.
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with bank counterparties, brokers and corporate clients, supporting KYC requirements and the onboarding of new counterparties and clients.
  • Contributing to treasury projects, process improvements and system enhancements, helping to strengthen controls, improve operational efficiency and support the evolution of the Bank's treasury capabilities.

About You

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Degree in a numerate discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, Finance or a related field (minimum 2:1 or equivalent).
  • 1-3 years' experience within a Bank Treasury or Financial Markets environment, with experience executing treasury products including money market investments, repo transactions, fixed income securities, FX and interest rate derivatives.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, market developments and economic trends to support decision-making.
  • A genuine interest in financial markets, macroeconomics and treasury activities, with a proactive approach to staying informed on market and regulatory developments.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, counterparties, brokers and clients.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and deliver accurate outputs to tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, with skills using Power BI, Bloomberg or treasury systems advantageous.
