About The Role
This is a market leading opportunity to become a Senior Property Risk Surveyor supporting our Head Office Risk and Compliance activity working with our respected teams that operate across the business functions on all property related matters. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting the Bank in providing guidance and oversight of our security assessment and valuation policy and procedures.
- Oversighting our team of 25 in-house Regional Surveyors and panel of external BTL panel valuers covering England, Scotland, and Wales.
- Providing specialist advice and oversight around the valuation of the more complex residential investment properties which include Houses in Multiple Occupation and Multi-Unit blocks.
- Supporting the Development Finance Division with advice and market feedback on new proposals and sites under construction.
- Oversighting all Valuer and Project Monitoring Surveyor panel appointments and the suitability of their engagement.
- Representing the Bank externally at industry forums (such as UK Finance, RICS and Valuer conferences), engaging with external stakeholders and liaising with other property professionals.
- Providing technical advice in connection with matters such as The Renters Rights Act, MEES, climate change, leasehold reform, and the Building Safety Act.
- Preparing reports and market sector presentations from various sources of information and statistical data.
This will be a senior management role within the Credit Risk division that would suit a candidate with proven valuation experience that now seeks to develop their career further within a specialist lender environment.
More specifically, this position requires the successful applicant to:
- Provide expert specialist BTL advice in accordance with our Lending Criteria and the RICS Valuation -Global Standards.
- Deliver monthly market reports for the Board and Credit Committee.
- Ensure all tasks are completed and delivered in line with agreed deadlines and service standards.

About You
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Professional competence, MRICS/FRICS qualification and Registered Valuer.
- Senior leadership experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and take on new challenges.
- Previous property risk/valuation experience including a comprehensive knowledge of the residential BTL market and associated economic factors.
- Willingness to join internal and external project working groups.
- Experience of the development finance market and development appraisals.
- Up-to-date CPD and current driving licence.

Working hours / arrangements:
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (one hour for lunch). Located at our Head Office in Solihull for up to 2 days per week and then either working from home or out in the regions across the UK supporting the business.
