What you’ll be doing
- Support the Operational Risk team in the discharge of its duties and provide continuous guidance to line management and individual business areas with the identification, measurement, monitoring and effective management of operational risk via the completion of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA’s)
- Provide continuous oversight and challenge in respect of operational risk events to ensure information is accurately documented, appropriate actions have been considered and that supporting evidence is verified ahead of an event being closed
- Assist in the ongoing embedding and continual enhancement of all aspects of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF)
- Help to embed operational risk awareness across the Group’s first line through active stakeholder management, engagement and technical support
- Undertaking control oversight activities in respect of management systems and other first line operated controls and testing
- Review and appropriately challenge sources of risk MI to ensure timely and accurate reporting to relevant internal Risk Committees
- Review and analysis of operational loss data (both internal and external) to ensure timely identification of trends and themes
- Co-ordinate operational risk input to risk committees on the Group’s risk profile, control infrastructure, control weaknesses and remedial action plans
- Support the Operational Risk ICAAP process
About You
What you’ll bring to the team
- Previous experience of working within Financial Services, ideally within both first and second line risk management roles
- Knowledge of operational risk frameworks, including tools, techniques and practice for managing operational risk in a financial services organisation
- Ability to create strong business relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels, including senior management
- Ability to understand the business strategy and articulate the link to operational risk
- Strong negotiation, influencing and leadership skills
- Ability to work unsupervised within a team framework
- Well organised and able to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the business

Working hours
We operate hybrid working on the team, splitting our week between two days in the Solihull office and home working. Core working hours are between 8:30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
