Are you organised, customer-focused and confident dealing with sensitive information? We’re looking for a SARS Coordinator to manage Subject Access Requests from residents, making sure requests are handled accurately, sensitively and within regulatory timescales. You’ll work closely with residents, colleagues across the business and our Data Protection and Governance teams to understand what customers are asking for, coordinate information, and make sure responses are compliant and easy to understand. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with legislation and making sure customers receive the right information at the right time.

What’s in it for you…. In addition to the salary, we offer a number of benefits, including:

  • High street discount schemes
  • Health cash plans
  • 26 days’ annual leave, increasing to 29 after three years, with the opportunity to buy more
  • Flexible bank holidays – take them when it suits you
  • Car leasing scheme
  • Hybrid working – offering you the flexibility to thrive in your role. You'll have the opportunity to blend the best of both worlds, spending approximately two to three days per week in the office once settled in the role. This is flexible and depends on meeting cycles and board activity.
  • We also offer an optional nine-day fortnight scheme, allowing you to compress your hours if it suits the role.

What you’ll be doing…… You’ll be responsible for managing resident Subject Access Requests from start to finish, working with colleagues to make sure every request is handled accurately, fairly and within the required timescales. Here’s a snapshot:

  • Manage the SAR mailbox and act as the first point of contact for resident requests
  • Work with residents to understand what information they need and identify the best way to support them
  • Coordinate information gathering, reviewing and redaction of documents in line with legislation
  • Work closely with the Data Protection Officer and Governance Team on complex or sensitive requests
  • Make sure responses, disclosures, exemptions and correspondence are accurate, compliant and issued within agreed timescales
  • Maintain accurate SAR records and monitor cases to ensure requests are completed within 30 days, keeping residents informed where extensions are needed
  • Support internal reviews, guidance and process improvements to strengthen the SAR service
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation, case law, ICO guidance and good practice, sharing knowledge with colleagues

What we’re looking for: You don’t need to tick every box, but we’d love to hear from you if you bring:

  • Experience working in a housing environment, ideally within tenancy support or social housing management
  • Practical knowledge of Landlord and Tenant Law and an understanding of relevant legislation and good practice
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the confidence to deal with sensitive or complex enquiries
  • Strong organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise, manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
  • Good IT skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook, with experience using Northgate Housing Management or a similar system
  • A problem-solving approach, with the ability to build effective relationships, use sound judgement and know when to seek further advice

If specific qualifications are required, please upload them with your application to demonstrate your eligibility. At PA Housing, we believe in respect, integrity, and accountability. Our work is about people – not just properties – and we’re always looking for ways to do better. If that sounds like your kind of place, we’d love to hear from you.
