We're looking for a

Procurement Officer to support effective, compliant procurement and deliver value for money for our organisation and residents.

You’ll work with colleagues and suppliers, supporting procurements, improving processes and helping teams get the most from our procurement activity.

From supporting tenders and analysing spend to developing procurement systems and helping colleagues navigate requirements, you'll have plenty of opportunity to influence, challenge and improve the way we work

Please note this is a Fixed Term Contract until December 2027

You'll have the opportunity to blend the best of both worlds, spending approximately two to three days per week in the office once settled in the role.

What you'll be doing......

You'll play a key role in supporting effective procurement and delivering value for money. You'll be:

  • Leading low and mid-value procurements from scoping through to award
  • Supporting colleagues with quotations, direct awards, tenders and procurement documentation
  • Working with stakeholders and suppliers to understand requirements and find practical solutions
  • Managing and developing the
  • In-tend procurement system, including supplier onboarding
  • Maintaining the strategic procurement plan, pipeline, supplier records and procurement documentation
  • Analysing spend data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement
  • Supporting procurement reporting, risk management and Value for Money activities
  • Developing processes, templates and guidance, while providing advice and training to colleagues

What we're looking for

  • Experience working in a procurement or contract management environment
  • An understanding of procurement principles, terminology and best practice
  • Knowledge of the
  • Procurement Act 2023 and relevant public sector legislation
  • Experience using e-tendering software - ideally
  • In-tend
  • Strong Excel skills, including experience analysing data using Pivot Tables and V-Lookups
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to analyse information and explain it clearly
  • Experience working in the public sector would be an advantage
